Fall 2022 Community Engagement- p̓aačiidʔaaʔtx (Pacheedaht)

Our team was grateful to head out again to p̓aačiidʔaaʔtx to connect with community! Shana brought along Orange Shirt Bead packages and everyone was busied themselves learning together, laughing and sharing teachings.

The significance of cedar was highlighted throughout our discussions, and the parallel was drawn between weaving a cedar hat and raising a healthy child.

For more information about the work happening in p̓aačiidʔaaʔtx, contact Shana Sylvester at shanasylvester@siia.ca.

When weaving a cedar bark hat, it is important that it is uniform and consistent. Everything plays a role in making it strong
